The exhibition shows unique artifacts, well preserved by the permafrost. It is designed in layers, with texts, illustrations, replicas and authentic artifacts. In its center, we find the natural environment, with the life cycle and fauna.

The permanent exhibition, Life in light and ice is designed to show the audience the connections between Svalbard’s natural and cultural history, from pre-historic times, through its discovery, up until the present day.
